Ötztal Alps are group of amazing 3000m peaks with the highest Wildspitze (3772m). Our course is based in most comfortable mountain hut in the Alps, where we will be treated like in four stars hotel. We know, you will be willing to come back next year. Joining the course will give you look into multiple days of ski touring but with the overnight comfort, so we can enjoy skiing with light daily pack.

Majestic mountains and glaciers, soft rounded slopes are ski touring paradise. Despite no peak is above 4000m, all mountains are wild and they are rising really high above the valleys.

Reach prehistory and history offer you an option to extend your holiday and do some exploring in museum, monastery or even visit famous Reinhold Messer’s Juval castle.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrive in Val Senales, meeting with mountain guide and ascent by cable car to the hut.

Day 2: After delicious breakfast we will climb up to Seikogel (3555m) and enjoy amazing panorama of Ötztal Alps. During ascent we will do basic avalanche transceiver training, using of crampons and ice axe.

Day 3-4: Following amazing glaciers to the Weiskugel (3722m) and Similaun (3604m) following active off-piste on ski area beside hut.

Day 5: Climb up to Finailspitze (3556m) we will passing the point where the Ice man-Ötzi was found.

Day 6: Depart after breakfast.

Booking Procedures:

We offer you two possible ways to do your booking: by online booking safety system or via e-mail and Paypal/bank transfer. Our online booking process using PayPal is straight-forward and provides you a simple, understandable, and safe way to book the trip. Before you make your booking make sure, that you read our Terms and coditions.

All of our prices are quoted in Euros – if you wish to use our currency conversion facility, then current daily exchange rates will be applied. Unless otherwise stated, we require a deposit of €470 (approx. £400) per person per course at the time of booking, and the final balance is due eight weeks prior to the start of the course. For bookings made less than 8 weeks before the course start date, full payment is required at the time of booking.

What is included?

Lifts during whole week will cost you approx. 60eur and about 40eur for guide (split between clients). Half-board accommodation costs approx. 66eur. Huts guardian will appreciate if you will pay in Euros.

Transport
The easiest approach to Val Senales is by plane to Verona or to Innsbruck airport and from there by bus or train. If you need some help we will be happy to arrange transport to Val Senales for you.

Food and accommodation
Course starts and ends in Val Senales. We will spend all week in beautiful mountain hut Bella Vista. It is most comfort hut with outside sauna, fluffy beds and delicious food. It is one of the best huts in the Alps, that is why we are regular costumers over a decade. Hut is booked by half-board, at daily arrival in hut you can order lunch, buy snacks etc.

Fitness and ski level
To join this course you should be an intermediate skier, capable of skiing black runs and able to do parallel turns. Some off-piste or ski-touring experience is recommended, but not essential – this course can be your first access into world of slopes covered with fresh snow. You should have a high level of fitness. We recommend some activities like running, Nordic walking or cycling for 1-2 hours two or three times per week, and also a couple of days skiing, in the months before this course.

Travel insurance
Ski touring is a potentially dangerous activity. Before you start the course you must have travel insurance which includes mountain rescue in case of emergency, in order to avoid expensive charges. There are plenty of options, for example, OEAV Sektion Britannia, The British Mountaineering Council or  Snowcard. If you have an Alpine Club membership card you will also enjoy a discount in mountain huts.

The guide: participant ratio is 1:6.
